Amnesty International Faults Nigerian Authorities Over Killings in Benue Community
Amnesty International has criticised Nigerian authorities over the killing of at least 17 people in Mbalom, accusing the government of failing to protect residents from repeated violence. In a statement on Monday, the rights group said armed attackers stormed the village during Easter festivities on Sunday, killing several residents and injuring many others.
The organisation added that homes and shops were set ablaze during the assault, leaving families displaced and communities in fear. Amnesty International called on authorities to urgently investigate the attack and strengthen security to prevent further violence.
Presidency Warns Peter Obi Against Targeting Tinubu Over ADC Crisis
The Presidency has warned former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi, against what it described as unfair attacks on Bola Tinubu over the ongoing crisis within the African Democratic Congress.
