IG appoints DCP Anthony Placid new Police PRO, replaces Hundeyin

DCP Anthony Placid has been appointed as the new Nigeria Police Force PRO, replacing Benjamin Hundeyin, bringing vast experience in policing and international security.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police Anthony Placid as the new Force Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Police Force. Placid replaces the outgoing PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, and brings extensive experience in administration, operations, intelligence, training, and international peacekeeping.

Placid, born in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, holds degrees in Geography and Regional Planning, Law and Diplomacy, and Law, and has served in strategic roles within Nigeria and in United Nations and African Union missions. He is also a member of several professional bodies, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and enjoys music, football, basketball, table tennis, and badminton.
