The United States has approved an emergency Foreign Military Sale to Israel valued at approximately $151.8 million, providing 12,000 BLU-110A/B general-purpose 1,000-pound bomb bodies along with related munitions support. The deal was announced on March 6, 2026, by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
The BLU-110A/B is a hardened bomb body designed for penetration and general-purpose use, often paired with guidance kits to enable precision strikes from aircraft. The package also includes U.S. government and contractor engineering, logistics, technical support services, and other programme-related elements required for the integration and deployment of the munitions.
According to the announcement, the principal contractor is Repkon USA, based in Garland, Texas, with part of the bomb bodies to be drawn from existing U.S. stockpiles. In a notable procedural move, Marco Rubio invoked emergency authority under Section 36(b) of the Arms Export Control Act, waiving the standard congressional review period.
