A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Isah Abdullahi, attached to the armoury of the 12 Police Mobile Force in Minna, Niger State, has reportedly committed suicide after being linked to the illegal supply of arms to terrorists. The incident occurred amid an internal investigation by the Niger State Police Command.
The police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said Abdullahi was arrested on December 15, 2025, over allegations of illegal ammunition dealings. He said an arms audit was conducted the following day to establish missing rifles and ammunition linked to the suspect.
“On December 16, 2025 at about 2.30pm… while the audit process was ongoing, the said officer shot himself on the head… and died on the spot,” Abiodun said. He added that officers on duty during the audit were arrested for negligence, noting that further investigation is ongoing.
