i‑Scholar Initiative announces 100 recipients of its 2026 scholarship awards and mentorship program

The i-Scholar Initiative has named 100 young Nigerians for its 2026 scholarship and mentorship program, which covers test and application fees and offers guided support to help them secure fully funded graduate admissions to top global universities

The i‑Scholar Initiative (iSI) has unveiled the list of 100 exceptional young Nigerians selected for its 2026 Scholarship Awards and Mentorship Program. According to a press statement from the organization’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Fajolu, the announcement follows a rigorous, multi-stage selection process led by the organization’s Operations Vice President, Mrs. Hanatu Banjoko.

Since its inception in 2019, iSI has supported more than 455 scholars and achieved an impressive 85% success rate in helping beneficiaries secure fully funded graduate admissions into top global universities.

“Our mission has always been to bridge the opportunity gap for talented African students,” said Mrs. Tolulope Ewherido, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “I remain deeply grateful to our volunteers and donors whose unwavering commitment continues to make this impact possible.”

The 2026 award package covers the cost of key standardized tests—including the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)—as well as a predetermined amount of graduate school application fees. Beyond financial support, each scholar will participate in iSI’s hallmark end‑to‑end mentoring program, which pairs them with experienced scholars and professionals who guide them through the entire graduate admissions journey.

Echoing the Board Chair’s appreciation, Mr. Victor Ogunmola, President of iSI, emphasized the indispensable role of the organization’s supporters.
“Our donors are the engine that powers this mission,” he said. “Their generosity enables us to continue opening doors for the next generation of African scholars and leaders.”

The newly selected awardees will soon receive invitations to join iSI’s digital platforms and will be formally inducted during an onboarding ceremony scheduled for July. The full list of beneficiaries is available on the organization’s website: www.ischolarinitiative.org
