VIDEO: How spirit of God led me to kill my uncle, two others – Imo man

A man identified as Michael Akujiobi has confessed to the chilling murder of three individuals in Awo-Omamma, Imo State, claiming he carried out the attacks under the “instruction of the spirit of God.”

A viral video has surfaced online showing a man identified as Michael Akujiobi confessing to the brutal killing of three people in Umuezeali, Awo-Omamma, located in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State. Akujiobi, who recently returned from Lagos to trade palm kernel, detailed a series of violent attacks occurring on a Friday evening, claiming he acted under spiritual influence to eliminate “evil ones.” Among his victims was his own uncle, whom he identified as Joseph Akujiobi, stating, “The number one person I killed in the same building with me is my father’s younger brother.” He further alleged that he killed an elderly woman with his bare hands after a spiritual voice told him, “That woman is an evil woman. Kill her.”

The suspect also admitted to the murder of a third victim, identified as Mr. Serene Oboe, whom he allegedly chased and bludgeoned with a hammer. Throughout the interrogation, Akujiobi alternated between claiming divine justification and admitting to the “demonic” nature of his actions. When asked if the spirit of God was controlling him during the murders, he responded, “Yes,” later adding that his victims were those “that don’t want your child to suffer.” Despite his claims of spiritual warfare, he acknowledged the gravity of his crimes, stating, “What I did is demonic. It’s demonic. It’s not what human beings supposed to do,” and noted that he understood the legal consequences could include life imprisonment or being stoned to death.

Following the killings, Akujiobi reportedly fled the scene to escape retaliation from the victims’ families, who he claimed sought to attack his own wife and children. He revealed during the questioning that he eventually reached out to an associate to seek intervention from government authorities to “set me free” from the situation. The suspect, who admitted to previously selling Indian hemp in the village, claimed he had “won the battle” and no longer feared human beings. The video concludes with the interviewer acknowledging his testimony, as Akujiobi remained firm in his narrative that his actions were the result of a five-hour spiritual struggle in his room.
