According to Vanguard, the sad news was announced by actor Kunle Afod, who paid tribute to Oyewo’s remarkable contributions to the theatre and movie industry.
Oyewo, widely celebrated for his portrayal of Odewale in The Gods Are Not to Blame, enjoyed a career spanning more than six decades. He also featured in notable productions including Saworoide, Sango and Super Story, earning admiration across generations of movie lovers.
Beyond the screen, Oyewo was a distinguished academic who lectured at several Nigerian universities and helped nurture future generations of performers.
