Contractor Faces Clampdown
Minister of Works, David Umahi, ordered the arrest of Hartland Nigeria Limited’s MD over failure to complete an 11km Benin-Onitsha Expressway section despite receiving N14bn. Umahi, angered by poor progress, stated: “I am going to look for him to arrest him.” Only 40% of the agreed work is done, prompting directives to recover funds and sanction the company.
