President Bola Tinubu has ordered a sweeping security action plan following a deadly gunmen attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, near Jos, that left at least two people dead.
President Bola Tinubu has moved swiftly to order a comprehensive security overhaul following a brazen attack on one of Nigeria’s most sensitive institutions. According to Sahara Reporters, the directive came just three days after gunmen stormed the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, near Jos, under cover of darkness before being repelled by security operatives.
At least two people were killed in the late-night exchange of fire, including a police officer. Tinubu has since instructed security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering, tighten protection of critical national institutions and close the vulnerabilities the attack exposed.
The President also called for urgent coordination between the military, police and intelligence services to reinforce Nigeria’s national security architecture and prevent any repeat of the incident.
