In Anambra, 2027 presidential hopefuls will have to pay heavily to take their campaigns to the streets. Tinubu, Atiku and Peter Obi are each required to pay N50 million before erecting billboards or deploying any outdoor political materials in the state, according to The Nation
The Anambra Signage and Advertising Agency says the permit is to ensure orderliness fairness and compliance with ARCON-approved standards for campaigns. Enforcement teams will monitor compliance throughout the election period with sanctions for violators and removal of unauthorised materials.
Officials say the policy will also curb visual pollution and promote equal access to advertising spaces across Anambra State ahead of the 2027 polls. Candidates urged to comply fully to avoid sanctions or removals immediately strictly.
