TikTok deletes 12 million videos in Sub-Saharan Africa

Peoples Gazette reports that TikTok removed 12 million videos in Sub-Saharan Africa in Q4 2025 as part of its community safety enforcement.

TikTok says it removed 12 million videos in Sub-Saharan Africa during the fourth quarter of 2025.

According to Peoples Gazette, the figure was disclosed in TikTok’s Q4 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

The company said more than 175 million videos were removed globally, while over 218 million comments were taken down for violating its rules.

TikTok’s Sub-Saharan Africa communications lead, Keagile Makgoba, said the platform combines technology with human moderation and now reviews content in more than 70 languages, including Hausa.
