Suspected terrorists launched coordinated late-night attacks on communities in Kwara State, abducting several residents and killing one person during a gun battle in Famole community.
A wave of fear has swept through parts of Kwara State after suspected terrorists carried out coordinated attacks on multiple communities, kidnapping several residents and leaving one person dead.
According to SaharaReporters, the attacks occurred on Thursday night in Isin and Ifelodun Local Government Areas, where gunmen reportedly struck several communities almost simultaneously.
Sources familiar with the incidents said the attackers invaded Gaa-Oke Abba and Gaa-Alla communities in Isin Local Government Area, as well as Famole community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, at about 10pm.
The raids triggered panic among residents, many of whom reportedly fled their homes as the gunmen moved through the affected areas.
One source disclosed that at least two residents were abducted in Gaa-Alla community.
“In Gaa-Alla, two people were taken away by the terrorists,” the source said.
However, the full scale of the attack in Gaa-Oke Abba remains unclear. Community members were still trying to determine the number of victims taken away by the attackers as of the time the report was filed.
