Tension at University of Ibadan as SUG confirms abduction of 300-level law student

The University of Ibadan’s Students’ Union Government has confirmed the abduction of 300-level law student Tomisin during a religious retreat trip, sparking anxiety on campus, according to Vanguard.

Tension is building at the University of Ibadan. Per Vanguard, the Students’ Union Government has confirmed that 300-level law student Tomisin — also National Secretary of the Scripture Union Student Fellowship — was abducted while returning from a national conference in Imo State, alongside the fellowship’s General Director and eight others.

Contact was lost en route, and concerns deepened after she missed two days of faculty exams. One other UI student from the trip returned safely, but the vehicle carrying the General Director remains unaccounted for.

SUG President Temidayo Adeboye says engagements with security agencies and religious bodies are underway. The university’s Dean of Student Affairs confirmed awareness of the incident, urging calm and discouraging unverified rumours.
