A Nigerian man, Kingsley O., has been apprehended in Turkey for allegedly defrauding a Hong Kong dentist of $2.5 million through a romance scam. Posing as an American named Richard, he promised marriage to the dentist, whom he met online in 2020.
Kingsley persuaded the dentist to send him the substantial sum for an investment, transferring the money to various Turkish bank accounts between 2020 and 2022. After receiving the funds, he ceased communication, prompting the victim to alert authorities.
