Real reason we hate Nigerians – South African party leader

A South African political leader has stirred controversy after openly expressing resentment toward Nigerians amid ongoing xenophobic attacks and the evacuation of affected citizens back to Nigeria.

The xenophobia crisis in South Africa has taken another troubling turn, with a South African political figure openly celebrating the departure of Nigerians from the country.

Daily Trust reported that Thabile Sibeko, who identified herself as the president of the Inizwe Nathi Party, made the remarks in a video shared by News Central as Nigerians affected by recent attacks continued to return home.

Speaking to journalists, Sibeko did not hide her feelings about Nigerians, blaming them for social problems in South Africa and expressing support for their exit from the country.

“I’m here to bid farewell to Nigeria, to make sure that they are leaving our country and to say to them bye-bye, Nigeria. Thank you for all you contributed to our country.

“We did not appreciate the wrongs that you have done, and we hope that you have learned a lesson, and we want to encourage them when they go to other countries, they must take care of other countries.

“Today we’ve got zombies in our streets as our children because of them, and that has cut deep in our hearts and that has made us to resent them.”
