In a statement issued through his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo described the document as a fabrication intended to mislead the public and urged Nigerians to disregard it entirely.
The rebuttal comes days before his 89th birthday on March 5. Obasanjo, author of the multi-volume My Watch series, has previously faced similar incidents involving forged letters and misattributed statements, though his team did not indicate whether legal action would be taken over the latest development.
