A tragic road accident on Sunday morning, March 15, 2026, has claimed the lives of 44-year-old Nihinlolawa Agoro and two of her children, Temiloluwa, 18, and Isaac, 22. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reported that the family’s SUV was traveling eastbound on US-90A near Richmond at approximately 9:00 a.m. when a westbound truck crossed the center median and slammed into them head-on. The impact caused the truck to roll over and burst into flames, while three of the five occupants in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other children in the vehicle—a 4-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl—survived the initial impact and were airlifted to a local hospital, where they remain in serious but stable condition as of Wednesday.

Investigators at the scene noted that the victims’ attire suggested they were likely on their way to a Sunday morning church service when the crash occurred. The driver of the truck, identified as a 20-year-old male, was also hospitalized with serious injuries and remains under guard as authorities coordinate with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office. Preliminary findings indicate that “charges are expected,” and investigators are currently working to determine if alcohol, distraction, or excessive speed played a role in the truck losing control and crossing the median into oncoming traffic.

The news has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian diaspora and the local Texas community, with social media platforms flooded with tributes for the Agoro family. Friends described Nihinlolawa as a devoted mother, while her eldest children, Isaac and Temiloluwa, were remembered as promising young adults with deep ties to their faith. As the investigation continues, local officials have faced renewed calls for enhanced safety barriers along that stretch of US-90A between Harlem Road and Pitts Road to prevent similar median-crossing tragedies. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office has stated that more information will be released as the toxicology reports and crash reconstruction are completed.
