Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has declared Tuesday a work-free day across the state to mark the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH.
Oyo State workers, enjoy the break. Vanguard reports that Governor Seyi Makinde has declared Tuesday a work-free day in commemoration of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH. The declaration, contained in a memorandum signed by Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, also carried warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah across Oyo State and Nigeria. Makinde prayed for good health and prosperity for all Muslims and urged residents to offer prayers for the peace and unity of Oyo State and Nigeria. The governor also used the occasion to call on residents to remain security-conscious and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies or through the state emergency number, 615.
