Leaked draft reveals 14-point peace deal to end US-Iran war

A leaked draft reviewed by Reuters reveals a 14-point US-Iran agreement to end the war, reopen key shipping routes, and launch a 60-day negotiation process starting in Switzerland.

The fog of war between the United States and Iran may be lifting, at least on paper. A leaked draft of their interim peace deal has surfaced, laying out a 14-point roadmap to end hostilities, restore vital shipping routes, and set the stage for a broader settlement down the line

According to Sahara Reporters,Washington hasn’t officially released the document, but Reuters says it reviewed a copy, and the numbers tell a striking story. The 14 articles sketch out a plan to halt the war and kick off a 60-day negotiation window expected to begin in Switzerland on Friday.

Under the draft, the U.S., Iran, and their respective wartime allies would immediately stand down, agreeing not to launch or threaten any further military action against each other, a provision that extends to operations tied to Lebanon as well.

The two sides would also commit to respecting each other’s sovereignty and staying out of each other’s internal affairs, while using the two-month window, extendable if both agree, to iron out remaining sticking points.

Perhaps the most consequential piece: the U.S. would be required to lift its wartime naval blockade and get maritime traffic flowing again within 30 days, a move that could quickly ease pressure on global shipping and energy markets.
