The Kwara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly condemned a Federal High Court ruling that ordered the deregistration of the party and four others. The ADC described the judgment as a direct attack on Nigeria’s multi-party democracy and democratic freedoms.
Delivered by Justice Peter Lifu, the ruling cited the parties’ alleged failure to meet constitutional electoral performance requirements. The ADC insists the decision is politically motivated, aimed at weakening opposition ahead of the 2027 elections and undermining democratic stability.
