Rabiu Kwankwaso has threatened a N10 billion lawsuit against Primate Elijah Ayodele over alleged defamatory sermon comments claiming he would betray running mate Peter Obi.
Kwankwaso isn’t letting this slide. The former Kano governor and NDC vice-presidential candidate has threatened legal action against Primate Elijah Ayodele over comments made during a widely circulated sermon, Punch reports.
Ayodele allegedly claimed Kwankwaso would betray running mate Peter Obi and had hidden personal motives behind his political moves. Kwankwaso’s lawyers say the remarks painted him as deceitful and untrustworthy, damaging his reputation.
He’s now demanding a public retraction, apology, and a promise to avoid further defamatory statements — all within 24 hours. Miss that deadline, and Ayodele could be staring at a N10 billion lawsuit.
As of reporting time, Primate Ayodele had not responded.
