The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Didi Walson-Jack, admitted before a House of Representatives ad-hoc committee that her office relied on forged documents to approve the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council. Vanguard reports that Walson-Jack conceded her office should have carried out more scrutiny before granting the recruitment waiver, though she maintained approvals followed standard procedure based on documents submitted.

The committee said police forensic analysis confirmed the appointment letter’s signatures were entirely different from genuine ones, and that the purported Establishment Act lacked citation, Gazette, and Supreme Court numbers required of valid legislation.
