Ex-Minister Sadiya Farouq seeks to revoke arrest warrant in Abuja High Court

Former Humanitarian Affairs Minister Sadiya Farouq has asked an Abuja High Court to cancel the arrest warrant issued against her in an ongoing corruption case.

According to Daily Post Nigeria, Farouq was absent from court again on Monday, with her lawyer, Oladipo Opeseyi, blaming health issues and urging the court to hear an application challenging the April 16 warrant.

The prosecution opposed the move, arguing that the application could not be heard before Farouq’s formal arraignment. But the defence insisted it was a preliminary matter.

Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie allowed both sides to argue the application. The prosecution also challenged the credibility of medical reports submitted by the defence.

The judge adjourned the case until June 10 for ruling.
