According to Blueprint, the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai bail of N100 million, with a surety required in the same sum.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, who delivered the ruling on Monday, imposed strict conditions, requiring the surety to reside within Maitama or Asokoro districts of Abuja, present an original Certificate of Occupancy, and be a serving federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17, with evidence of at least three months’ salary payments.
El-Rufai faces allegations of financial misconduct during his tenure as governor. He has consistently denied wrongdoing, maintaining the cases are politically motivated. His legal team continues challenging aspects of the prosecution’s case as substantive hearings progress.
