Afrobeats star Davido and Hausa singer Dauda Rarara are locked in a fiery public spat after Davido wore a “Bring Them Home” jacket naming abducted Oyo schoolchildren at a Los Angeles World Cup concert, with Rarara branding the move “barbaric.”

A jacket has triggered a full-blown celebrity feud.
Davido sparked controversy after wearing a customised “Bring Them Home” jacket — bearing the names of over 40 children abducted in Oyo State — at the FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert in Los Angeles on June 10.
Hausa singer Dauda Rarara wasn’t impressed. “What Davido did was barbaric,” he said in a Facebook video. “How can you promote Ansaru terrorists or insecurity-related issues to the whole world?”
Rarara also alleged political motives, asking: “Is it because his uncle is contesting an election on Accord Party and Tinubu is in APC?”
Davido responded mockingly on X, writing “Debidooo,” before switching to Hausa to fire back: “Da ace kana da ilimi da na tsaya nayi magana dakai. Ama komai baka sani ba, sakarai kawai” — translating to “If only you had knowledge, I would have stopped to speak with you. But you know nothing, just a fool.”
Rarara hit back with “Kashiga taitayinka,” telling Davido to come to his senses.
Davido later doubled down, insisting patriotic Nigerians must speak out on insecurity “regardless of political affiliation,” adding pointedly that prioritising politics over truth “is nothing to be proud of.”
