Dangote Refinery raises petrol price again

Dangote Refinery has raised its ex-depot petrol price by N75 to N1,350 per litre, marking its second increase within a week.

Dangote Refinery has increased its ex-depot price of petrol by N75, raising the cost from N1,275 to N1,350 per litre. The adjustment marks the first fuel price hike by the refinery in May and comes amid ongoing fluctuations in the downstream petroleum sector.

The latest increase follows a similar adjustment just seven days earlier, when the refinery raised its ex-depot price from N1,200 to N1,275 per litre. DAILY POST recalls that on April 29, the refinery implemented a N75 increase, signalling a continuing upward trend in fuel pricing.

The back-to-back hikes have heightened concerns over the potential impact on pump prices and the cost of living, as marketers are expected to adjust retail prices in response to rising ex-depot rates. The development underscores persistent volatility in Nigeria’s fuel market, with consumers likely to face further pressure in the coming weeks.
