POUNDED YAM RECALL

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled Ola-Ola Authentic Pounded Yam (Iyan) after finding it contains undeclared milk, an allergen that can trigger serious reactions in sensitive consumers.

According to Premium Times, the recall was issued on June 26 and classified as a food recall warning involving an undeclared allergen. The affected product is sold in a 1.815kg package.

The CFIA warned that consumers allergic to milk should avoid the product, as it could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction. It advised against using, selling or distributing the product, urging consumers to dispose of it or return it to the retailer.

The recall followed a consumer complaint, and no allergic reactions had been reported as of the notice.
