Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has settled a N39.831 billion debt inherited from his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel. Finance Commissioner Emem Bob announced the full repayment, including interest, by November 2025, achieved through thorough financial management.
The administration also addressed N76.3 billion in gratuity arrears. Governor Eno plans to avoid new commercial loans, instead prioritizing Internally Generated Revenue by implementing AKWAGIS and AKWAREMIT for enhanced transparency and efficiency.
