Air Peace grounds plane, cancels Warri-Lagos flight after bird strike

Air Peace has cancelled its scheduled Warri-Lagos return flight after one of its aircraft suffered a bird strike while landing at Osubi Airport in Delta State.

According to Sahara Reporters, the incident occurred during touchdown, prompting immediate technical inspections by the airline’s engineering team. Preliminary checks revealed the need for further examination of the aircraft’s landing gear, leading to its grounding in line with aviation safety regulations.

The airline said safety remains its top priority and stressed that the decision was necessary to ensure full compliance with operational standards.

To ease the disruption, Air Peace has provided hotel accommodation for affected passengers and is working on alternative arrangements to get them to Lagos.

The airline also apologised for the inconvenience.
