Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-SGF Babachir Lawal clashed over the recent African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries. Lawal resigned from the ADC, alleging the primaries were massively rigged in favor of Atiku. He called the process a “disgraceful charade” and stated he wouldn’t be part of any rigging plans.
Atiku’s camp, via spokesperson Phrank Shaibu, refuted the claims, calling them unsubstantiated allegations. They accused Lawal of political inconsistency and questioned his motives, citing his acceptance of other primary outcomes and past controversies.
