ADC cautions Jigawa government against unregulated mining

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is urging the Jigawa government to implement strict security measures for mining activities. The party’s deputy state chairman, Nuraddeen Jidawa, warned that poorly regulated mining could create openings for bandits and other criminal elements.

This advisory follows the recent establishment of the Jigawa State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), tasked with developing the solid mineral sector. The ADC emphasizes a security-first approach, citing concerns about alien infiltration in other parts of the country.
