Interior designers set agenda for sustainable spaces, urge certification, collaboration

Interior designers are pushing for enhanced collaboration, technology integration, and professional certification to elevate Nigeria’s built environment. This call emerged from the Abuja Interior Design Summit 2026, organized by the Interior Designers Association of Nigeria’s FCT chapter.

Key figures like IDAN FCT chairperson Anthonia Ode and national president Jacqueline Aki emphasized the need for sustainable design practices that incorporate nature, culture, and technology. They highlighted interior design’s role as an economic driver and its impact on national assets.
