I won’t campaign for Atiku-Amaechi ticket — Kenneth Okonkwo

Actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo has withdrawn his support for Atiku Abubakar’s 2027 presidential bid after reports emerged that Rotimi Amaechi, a South-South politician, was picked as running mate instead of a South-East candidate.

Nollywood-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo is done with Atiku. Sahara Reporters reveals that the former Labour Party spokesman pulled his support for the ADC presidential ticket after reports emerged that ex-Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi had been chosen as Atiku’s running mate, bypassing the South-East yet again. Okonkwo fumed that the South-East remains the only geopolitical zone that has never produced a president or vice president since 1999. He noted the ADC was founded by a South-Easterner, Ralph Nwosu, making the alleged snub even more stinging. “I am not favourably disposed to campaigning for any presidential ticket that does not have a South-East person as President or Vice in 2027,” he declared bluntly.
