Kano NDC picks Kwankwaso’s son as governorship running mate

Mustapha Kwankwaso, eldest son of former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been named running mate to NDC governorship candidate Aminu Abdulsalam ahead of the Kano governorship election.

It is keeping it in the family. Premium Times reports that Mustapha Kwankwaso, eldest son of NDC chieftain and former Vice Presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been named running mate to Kano’s NDC governorship candidate, Aminu Abdulsalam. The announcement was made by the elder Kwankwaso’s spokesperson following a stakeholders’ meeting at his Miller Road residence.

Mustapha, a former Kano Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development who resigned in January, and Abdulsalam both served under Governor Abba Yusuf before a political rift split the state’s executive. Yusuf has since defected to the APC.
