Kuwait has temporarily suspended Commercial Visit Visas for all nationalities, a move that is expected to disrupt business travel and corporate operations worldwide.
According to Nairametrics, the suspension takes immediate effect and halts a key visa channel used by executives, consultants, investors, and business representatives travelling to Kuwait for meetings, site visits, conferences, and contract negotiations.
The visa, typically sponsored by a Kuwait-registered company, allows short-term business visits of up to 30 days. With new applications no longer being processed, companies with active interests in Kuwait may face delays in project assessments, deal-making, and in-person engagements.
The decision comes amid broader immigration reforms introduced by Kuwaiti authorities aimed at tightening oversight and streamlining residency and workforce management processes.
