Media mogul and politician Dele Momodu has stirred fresh debate ahead of the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the contest will be a straight fight between President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
In a statement shared on his X account, Momodu effectively ruled out Labour Party figure Peter Obi, arguing that Nigeria’s political landscape is increasingly shaping up as a two-horse race. He described the expected showdown between Tinubu and Atiku as a “battle of the titans,” predicting an intense contest between the incumbent president and his strongest challenger.
According to a report by Vanguard, Momodu said the political momentum heading into 2027 points toward a Tinubu-Atiku faceoff, despite continued discussions around other opposition figures.
