The assurance was delivered on Sunday by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, during the National Inter-Denominational Church Service held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja as part of activities marking the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.

Akume said the President remains fully aware of the challenges facing citizens and is addressing them responsibly. He also paid tribute to pro-democracy activists involved in the June 12 struggle, describing 27 years of uninterrupted democratic rule as a testament to the resilience and sacrifices of Nigerians.


ADA official asks court to deregister Nigerian Democratic Congress

The protem Director of Organisation of the All Democratic Alliance, Ahidjo Karlahi, has filed a suit seeking the deregistration of the Nigerian Democratic Congress by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1115/2026, was filed before a Federal High Court in Abuja and has been assigned to Justice Mohammed Umar by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho.
