Israel promises to strengthen partnership with Nigeria to advance AI

Israel has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening ties with Nigeria as both countries look to tap into the growing opportunities in artificial intelligence.

According to a report by the People Gazette, Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, said his country is ready to share its AI expertise with Nigeria as part of efforts to boost innovation, entrepreneurship and technology-driven development.

Speaking at the close of the Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers programme in Abuja, Freeman said Israel has decided to go “all in” on AI and wants Nigeria to be part of that journey.

He stressed the importance of ensuring African voices are represented in the development of AI technologies. Facilitators at the event also praised Nigerian innovators, saying local entrepreneurs have the potential to build AI-powered solutions capable of solving challenges in education, health, agriculture, security and beyond.
