NAFDAC unveils enhanced safety app to combat fake drugs

Nigeria’s drug regulator, NAFDAC, has rolled out an upgraded Med Safety App to boost reporting of fake, substandard and unsafe medicines, according to Daily Post Nigeria.

Officials say the digital tool allows healthcare workers and the public to quickly report suspicious drugs, altered expiry dates and adverse reactions through a more user-friendly interface. It also improves data capture, enables photo uploads, and speeds regulatory investigations aimed at removing dangerous products from circulation nationwide.

NAFDAC is urging health professionals and citizens to actively use the app to strengthen medicine safety monitoring.
