Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election and launched the “Reset Nigeria Movement” to drive his nationwide campaign.
Seyi Makinde has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, unveiling the “Reset Nigeria Movement” as part of efforts to mobilise support across the country.
According to BusinessDay, the Oyo State governor also launched a dedicated presidential campaign website designed to serve as a platform for policy engagement, volunteer registration and grassroots participation both within Nigeria and the diaspora.
Speaking on his ambition, Makinde said Nigeria requires accountable and competent leadership capable of restoring public trust and strengthening national institutions.
“Nigeria cannot continue with politics as usual. This is the time to reset our nation, rebuild public trust, strengthen institutions, and create a system that works for all Nigerians,” he said.
Makinde said his proposed agenda would focus on economic growth, job creation, healthcare, education, infrastructure, power reforms and national security.
