Residents of Agbado-Oke-Odo are being urged to switch off generators by 11:00 p.m. to enhance community security and reduce noise disturbances.
Kasumu Olubowale, Chairman of the Agbado-Oke-Odo CDC, is urging residents to silence their generators by 11:00 p.m. daily. Clarifying that this is a long-standing state initiative, Olubowale emphasized that the measure is crucial for security management and community vigilance. With fewer than 300 police officers patrolling over 2,700 streets, quiet nights are essential for effective monitoring.
Beyond safety, the directive tackles noise pollution that affects residents with health conditions. Olubowale noted that noisy engines disrupt the serenity required for rest, stating, “My message to the community is to comply. This initiative is for the safety, security and well-being of everyone.” By adhering to the cutoff, neighborhoods can foster peace rather than sliding into disorder. Compliance remains the best tool for local safety.
