War: Nigerian govt issues urgent safety advisory to citizens in Iran, Gulf States

The Nigerian government has urged its citizens in Iran and Gulf states to remain vigilant, limit movement and stay in contact with embassies amid escalating regional conflict.

The Federal Government has issued an urgent safety advisory to Nigerians residing in Iran and neighbouring Gulf states following escalating military exchanges involving Iran, the United States and Israel. In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citizens were urged to exercise heightened vigilance amid reports of airstrikes and retaliatory attacks across the region.

The government advised Nigerians to avoid military and strategic locations, limit non-essential travel, comply with local authorities and maintain contact with Nigerian missions in Tehran, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The ministry reaffirmed that the safety of Nigerians abroad remains a priority while calling for restraint and diplomatic engagement to restore regional stability.
