Matthew Tonlagha, vice chairman of Tantita Security Services, has engaged a US-based lobbying firm through his company to provide strategic communications and government affairs services aimed at strengthening Nigeria–US relations.
Nigerian businessman Matthew Tonlagha, who serves as vice chairman of Tantita Security Services, has hired a United States lobbying and consulting firm through his company, Maton Engineering Nigeria Limited, to provide strategic communications and government affairs services focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United States. The engagement was disclosed in filings submitted to the US Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
The filings, made by Washington-based consulting firm Valcour, LLC, revealed that the contract between Valcour and Maton Engineering took effect on December 30, 2025, following the receipt of the firm’s first payment. According to the disclosure, services under the agreement formally commenced on the same day.
Under the terms of the agreement, Valcour is expected to provide consulting services in strategic communications and government affairs, including engagement with US media organisations, members of the US Congress and officials within the executive branch. The stated objective of the engagement is “to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the U.S. and Nigeria”.
