An Osun Magistrate Court has ordered the arrest of UBA and senior executives over alleged unlawful management of local government council bank accounts.
A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Osogbo has issued arrest warrants against United Bank for Africa Plc and four senior officials over alleged illegal operation of bank accounts belonging to Osun’s 30 local government councils. The court said the defendants disobeyed summons in a suit filed by the Osun State Government.
The court ordered police to produce the defendants, including UBA’s GMD Oliver Alawuba, after finding that unauthorised persons operated the councils’ accounts. The 31-count charge alleges conspiracy and violations of Osun’s Local Government Accounts Administration Law. The case was adjourned to February 10, 2026, for trial.
