The Ogun State Government has said social welfare activist Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as Just Adetoun, has gone into hiding, while a medical doctor accused of issuing a fake medical report to help her evade arrest has been remanded in prison, following a six-count charge filed against the activist by the Ogun State Police Command, according to a statement issued Monday on the state government’s official X page by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, who said the matter arose after Nigerian-born British boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a road accident in the state in December 2025, after which the activist released videos alleging the absence of emergency ambulance services and accusing Governor Dapo Abiodun of neglecting public welfare, claims the government described as “false, malicious, and misleading,” adding that “Ogun State has multiple state-owned and state-supported ambulance services,” and noting that police invited Onajobi on January 2, 2026, to report on January 5, but she failed to appear and allegedly went into hiding, later submitting a medical report through her lawyer claiming illness, which police investigations found to be fake, with the issuing doctor admitting he never examined her and subsequently being arrested, charged and remanded, while Ogungbade said “Adetoun Onajobi is currently on the run,” questioned her credibility, and recalled alleged past misconduct, as police earlier confirmed that she was invited “based on a petition” over her online accusations against the governor.
