Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Tuesday began assembling at the union’s national secretariat in Abuja for a nationwide protest against the rising insecurity across the country.
According to a report from Daily Post, those present include NLC President Joe Ajaero and several civil society allies. Also in attendance are Omoyele Sowore and members of the Revolution Now Movement.
Security operatives, including personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Department of State Services, were deployed to the area. The NLC had earlier fixed December 17 for the commencement of the nationwide protest against insecurity.
