The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has described any pastor who asks members to fortify themselves with charms as an idol worshipper. Giwa made the remarks on Sunday while reacting to a viral video showing a Lagos-based pastor advising his congregation to use charms for protection against Islamic terrorists.
Addressing his congregation in Akure, Ondo State, Giwa questioned the spiritual standing of the cleric in the video, noting that those who prepare charms are mortal. He said: “Somebody sent a video to me last week about a certain prophet in Lagos who told his members to fortify themselves with charms against the Islamic terrorists.”
Continuing, Giwa added: “However, I doubt if the man in question is a man of God. Has he forgotten that a herbalist who prepares a charm dies? It is only God that never dies.” He cited biblical passages, including 1 Kings 18 and Jeremiah 10:8, stressing that God never fails those who depend solely on Him.
