Former Anambra State governor and ex–Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is not kidnapped as earlier reported by an online platform. His former media aide, Fred Chukwuelobe, dismissed the claim, saying Ngige is “with the EFCC and was not abducted.” A viral report had alleged that Ngige was taken from his Abuja residence by unknown individuals.
Chukwuelobe said he received several calls seeking confirmation, stressing that the report was false. Ngige recently escaped an attack on his convoy in Anambra, during which a police officer was shot and an unidentified woman filming the incident was killed. Another victim, a shop owner, survived but is set for surgery to remove bullets.
