Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde has formally submitted his royal lineage data form as part of the requirements to contest the vacant Awujale of Ijebuland stool. The form, dated December 8 and co-signed by Ayinde and his family unit head, Adetayo Oduneye Eruobodo, affirms his descent from Setejoye under the Oba Jadiara category. The submission follows a directive from ruling house chairman Abdulateef Owoyemi, who extended the deadline to Wednesday.
The document is mandatory for all contenders and requires applicants to trace their genealogy back seven generations to confirm genuine membership of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. Ayinde had earlier, in a letter dated December 3, declared his intention to vie for the throne, stating that he is a “bona fide son” of the royal family in accordance with Ijebu customary and Ogun State chieftaincy laws.
