FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has pledged more housing projects for judges in Abuja, reaffirming President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to improving judicial welfare. Speaking at the opening of the 2025/2026 Legal Year of the Court of Appeal, he said budgetary allocations had been made to build additional residences for FCT High Court judges, adding that secure and well-equipped court infrastructure would enhance judicial efficiency. He noted that the FCTA had issued the Certificate of Occupancy for Supreme Court land and commenced perimeter fencing.
Wike listed ongoing federal interventions, including new residential quarters for heads of courts, a Magistrates’ Court Complex in Jabi, staff quarters for the Law School, and new Court of Appeal and Industrial Court facilities. He said the projects aim to support judges’ performance and advance justice reforms through accommodation, digital registries, and improved court systems. “Justice must never be compromised under any circumstances,” he said, expressing optimism for the 2025/2026 Legal Year.
